How we check
Every number on Cardinko comes from the bank's own documents, and every card page shows which ones.
Where the numbers come from
- Rates, caps, minimum spends, exclusions and overseas fees come only from the bank's own latest terms and conditions or rewards documents. We record each document's version or effective date.
- Annual fees, income requirements and headline benefits may come from the bank's official product page.
- Blogs, forums and news are only used as a hint to look for a new bank notice. We never use them for a rate.
- If something isn't in the documents we read, we leave it blank or say "not stated in the terms we read". We don't guess.
Which cards are listed
A card appears only when we've read its official terms. Cards that are invitation-only, closed to new applicants or discontinued are left out.
How we rank
- Rates assume the usual way people pay today: tapping a phone in shops, and online for websites and apps.
- Cards that need a minimum spend are only ranked first when they earn clearly more (over 10% more) than an easy card.
- Each card is labelled Easy, Some effort or Many hurdles, depending on its minimum spend, small caps and other conditions.
- Overseas, cards are ranked by what you keep after the card's foreign currency fee.
- No bank pays us, and nothing changes the ranking. If we ever add referral links, they'll be clearly labelled and still won't change it.
Spotted something wrong?
Banks change their terms often. If you see a number that doesn't match the bank's latest terms, email cardinko.app@gmail.com with the card and the document.
